Josey Girl Bay Leopard Mare, ApSHA #1506 Josey came to us in the fall of 1996. At that time she had been abandoned for almost 2 years. She was skinny and wild! After several years of persistence by my husband and myself, she has become the darling of the farm. She may be small, but she is fiery! And she can do it all. Josey has agility, stamina, speed, good carriage and a good mind. Josey is my personal mount for a variety of activities that include team penning, parades, hunting, trail riding and gymkhana. She takes excellent care of her rider. Josey attended her first English show in 2001. She also attended the 2001 Loomis Basin Horseman's Association Annual Horse Show and placed first in Hunter type mare and Non-quarter type mare. In the spring of 1999, we bred her to an Appaloosa stallion. She produced a snowcap colt who has surpassed her in height. Her mothering is excellent. See Josey's second foal, F1F Richwood's Jewel, by the stunning thoroughbred Richwood! Jewel is now owned and competed by Gretchen Mendez-Vilella of Puerto Rico. Josey's third foal, F1F Richwood's Princess, is another incredible Richwood baby! We believe her to be approximately 14 years of age (as of 2006). We have been unable to trace her pedigree due to her abandonment. She is registered ApSHA. |
